Boston, MA November 9, 2021 – Labviva, a leader in healthcare procurement software that modernizes legacy procurement processes today announced that Aaron Miramontes has been named Chief Product Officer.

The Labviva platform integrates with applications including SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud, JAGGAER Procure-to-Pay, and Coupa to give purchasers access to laboratory supplies, reagents, consumables, and equipment from a diverse supply network.

Miramontes will lead a team of marketers, product marketers, and designers to deliver an exceptional user experience to customers. Previously, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer and is a co-founder of the company. His UX architecture and strategy experience comes from two decades of executing on concept to delivery, including at Fortune 500 life sciences organizations like Merck and Thermo Fisher Scientific. He is deeply skilled at creating products and services that address the priorities of end-users while still aligning closely to the goals of the business.

As Chief Product Officer, he is tasked with the vision of the Labviva platform, user engagement, using customer insights to drive product decisions, and ensuring that the platform delivers on company revenue goals. His team will also drive product development, product analytics and metrics, and product marketing for growth. As a member of the Labviva leadership team, he is also involved in the forward-looking plans of the organization.

“I’m excited to move into a new role,” said Miramontes. “There is an incredible opportunity within the life sciences industry to enable a truly modern digital commerce experience. When suppliers, buyers, and scientists are connected via one platform, not only are many supply-chain bottlenecks released, but research moves faster, too.”

In the short-term, Miramontes and his team are focused on refining the private marketplaces that Labviva users in biotech, pharmaceutical, and major research institutions leverage to purchase supplies, ultimately offering a highly specialized B2B marketplace with the same e-commerce functionality as popular B2C sites. Labviva’s current version supports comparison shopping, equal-exact-functional match, and surfaces the scientific context for laboratory supplies.

“Labviva’s  success has had a great deal to do with Aaron’s contribution in developing a platform that organically resonates with our customers,” said Siamak Baharloo, CEO and Co-Founder of Labviva. “Aaron will continue leading the product team, now with the new focus that is required to innovate and continue delivering to the industry.”

Labviva was founded in 2017 by life sciences industry veterans Baharloo, Miramontes, and Nicholas Rioux. The company raised over $2M in pre-seed funding in 2020, and in June of 2021 announced a capital raise of $8M. In October of 2021, Labviva announced its new global headquarters, located at 164 Canal Street in Boston.
